Casa Gorordo

Casa Gorordo is a house museum located in a historic area of Cebu, the oldest city in the Philippines, The two-storey Casa Gorordo is also located in the Parian district of the City. The house was built in the mid-19th century and was home to Cebu’s most prominent families.
Alejandro Reynes y Rosales built the house, which was later bought by Juan Isidro De Gorordo. Four generations of the Gorordo family resided in the house from 1863 to 1979. Among its residents was Juan Gorordo, the first native Cebuano bishop of Cebu.

In 1980, the house was purchased by the Ramon Aboitiz Foundation Inc. In 1983, it was opened as a public museum. In 1991, it was declared as a National Historical Landmark by the National Historical Institute.

Me and some of our members in this group graduated from MCCNHS (Mandaue City Comprehensive National Highschool). Way back when we were still in Compre, We comprehensians were able to visit a museum and fortunately, its Casa Gorordo. It's kind'a fun to explore a place filled with exhibits. There was once a tour guide when we came there. I dont know if that man was still there to guide the visitors but to tell you guys, That man is very enthusiastic in introducing Casa Gorordo to the point that you wanted to visit it again and again. He introduced us its rich history, interesting background information and such. He is very vigilant when it comes to rules. Yes! There are some rules that you need to follow and walking slowly inside the museum is one of the few to mention. If you are searching for the souveniers, Casa Gorordo also offers Souvenier shop for their beloved visitors and/or tourists.
